Holly Willoughby has given fans a recovery update after being struck down with shingles and missing a week of hosting This Morning.
Fans were left disappointed on Monday when Holly, 42, told her 8.2 million Instagram followers that she had the illness and was most likely to be off for some time.
She wrote: “Hi... Just to let you know I may be away for the rest of the week as I have shingles... I'll be back as soon as I'm better.”
It also meant that the star missed her co-presenter Phillip Schofield’s first day back in several weeks.
The 62-year-old had taken a break from the show following the news his brother Timothy was found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage boy over a period of three years.
Now, Holly has delighted her legions of fans by revealing she was feeling better and had even ventured out of the house.
Sharing a photo of her gorgeous dog Bailey, she wrote beside it: “And I’m out of the house!”, letting everyone know that she is on the mend.
Clearly excited about being in the fresh air, she added: “The birds are putting on quite the show today… spring sounds beautiful”.
Fans flocked to the comments to send Holly their best wishes following her illness.
One person wrote: “Woohoo! My grandmother had shingles a couple of years ago and said it was far from pleasant. Glad you’re feeling better.”
“Shingles is awful. Hope you are OK. Maybe you and Medical team can cover post viral conditions and recovery when you are back? Xx,” [sic] suggested another follower.
While someone else added: “Awww glad to hear that Holly and hello Bailey!”
The Dancing on Ice host told her fans she was feeling “feeling so much better” on Friday, after being absent all week.
Alison Hammond revealed she would be on the show at the end of Friday's instalment as she said: “On Monday's show Holly is coming back so don't worry. She's going to be here on Monday!”
