Holly Willoughby made use of her day off from This Morning on Friday by spending her Thursday night out with one of her co-stars. The presenter was last seen on the ITV daytime show yesterday alongside Phillip Schofield before making a pre-recorded appearance at the Pride of Britain Awards.
Phillip and Holly were on stage at the star-studded event, which was held on Monday at London's Grosvenor House, to present two police officers with the This Morning's Emergency Services Award. Viewers of the awards on ITV got to see footage and images of PC Leon Mittoo and PC James Willetts' heroic actions during a horrific knife attack whilst on duty in a shopping centre.
Leon was stabbed repeatedly in the horror attack at New Square shopping centre in West Bromwich in July last year, sustaining serious injuries to his back, body and head while James received a head wound that could have been life-threatening. Despite their horrific wounds, both officers managed to detain the men and potentially save the lives of shoppers that day.
As ITV viewers watched the emotional and inspirational awards unfold on the TV, Holly headed out to the opera with Clodagh McKenna who viewers are used to seeing in the This Morning kitchen.
Alongside a video of the performers taking their final bows to an impressed audience, Holly typed on her Instagram Story: "Magical night again from the @englishnationalopera Tosca!" She then shared a follow-up post with her millions of followers, which featured a selfie of her and Irish chef Clodagh at the London Coliseum."
She added a curtain effect to show the smiling pair appearing from behind a theatrical red curtain before writing: "Beautiful night @englishnationalopera with this beautiful lady @clodagh_mckenna."
Clodagh also shared a selfie of the pair enjoying the show, writing: "Tosca @englishnationalopera Magical, passionate, thrilling... what an incredible production." She then tagged Holly, 41, alongside a red love heart who then re-shared the post with another red heart."
It's not the first time Holly has appeared to show her love for the English National Opera. Earlier this year, Holly revealed she was releasing her very own, and very first, perfume. The release comes through her lifestyle brand, Wylde Moon, which she launched last year.
While the perfume, named (borrowed from) The Wild, was released into the WYLDE Boutique, Holly held a special launch and her celebrity pals came out to support her as she launched the product in collaboration with the English National Opera (ENO) and ex-Oasis musician Andy Bell.
The event saw Andy perform new work based on Puccini's classic opera, while the performance featured 'La bohème' cast members and a 48-piece orchestra.
In a lengthy statement before the event, Holly said: "I fell in love with the opera on my first ever visit over 13 years ago. I had no idea what to expect. What I learnt is that it is for everyone, and for me when I come, life seems to switch off and I become immersed into a world that takes over all senses. Going to the ENO is similar to meditation for me.
"It's the perfect place to reconnect. I'm always mesmerised by the controlled freedom that opera has – powerful voices that helped me to reconnect with my inner voice and not be afraid to express it. Opera signifies that for me in life. 'La bohème' begins with the blowing out of a candle, just as WYLDE MOON was created with a candle – there's synergy there that brought the whole idea together."
