ITV1 's This Morning opened its Wednesday show with a stunning performance by a Welsh choir at Pembrey Country Park as Wales marked St David's Day. Hosts of This Morning Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were delighted by the performance.
The male and female Cor Curiad choirs from Llanelli performed Men of Harlech on the beach at Pembrey Country Park and after the performance giving the choir a big round of applause Holly said: "Well that was lovely! Good morning – or should I say bore da." and Phil called the choir "delightful".
Chatting to Byron Thomas from the male choir and Andrea Matthews from the female choir Andrea explained how the male and female choirs work together. She said: "We are separate choirs, both from the town of Llanelli, but quite often we work together."

Andrea chatted about the importance of St David's Day on the show. "It gives the chance to recognise the traditions of Wales," she said. "It is an opportunity to promote Welsh music, Welsh culture, Welsh language, and remind us all of our roots in Wales." Bryon added: "It is important to remember the life of St David and everything he did for Wales".
Welsh chef Michela Chiappa was also on This Morning to cook classic dishes like Welsh cakes. Elsewhere on ITV Lorraine Kelly attempted to introduce her ITV1 morning show Lorraine by speaking in Welsh. She tried to wish her viewers a happy St David's Day in Welsh.
She proffered a: "Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus" but didn't quite master the pronunciation and had to apologise to viewers for her attempt. She said: "I am so sorry to everyone in Wales because that was terrible! I probably said something very rude. Happy St David's Day though – I did try." Watch her attempt here.
