Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield cut from This Morning promo amid ongoing 'feud'

For several years Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been presenting This Morning together, but the pair are reportedly in a feud after reports their friendship is strained. Phillip recently issued an emotional statement, in which he stated that "the last few weeks haven't been easy for either" of them and he has always been grateful for the support of Holly and everyone around him.

He described Holly as his "best friend" as he spoke of the "real ordeal" his family had been through. The presenting duo did not appear on the This Morning show on Friday (May 12), as they don't usually present on a Friday, and Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary instead led the show, reports The Daily Mirror.

Guests such as Graham Norton, Carol Vorderman and Gyles Brandreth also made an appearance. During the episode they promoted what viewers could expect next week, including the 12 At 12 competition, which sees Phil and Holly, usually with the help of Josie Gibson, help their viewers win up to £12,000 in cash.

Fans were asked to register their interest in entering the competition this week ahead of it happening next week, but unlike other weeks where Holly and Phil appeared in the promotional video, there was no sign of them. Similarly, eagle eyed users on Twitter recently noticed Holly has wiped Phil from her Twitter bio, where she previously had written: "I was introduced to this by a Twitter legend," and then tagged Phil.

Her Twitter bio now reads: "Broadcaster, Founder of Wyldemoon, Brand ambassador for Marks & Spencer and Garnier, Author of Reflections," something that didn't slip past viewers. It is not known when it was changed but fans noted it amid rumours of a 'feud' between the presenting partner.

It comes after sources were quoted in the national press, suggesting the pair were 'not as close as they once were', and that their friendship had 'cooled'.

Following the reports of a feud, Phil released a bombshell statement last night where he admitted things hadn't been "easy" for the pair but praised her "incredible" support. He told The Sun: "The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.

"As I have said before, Holly is my rock. We’re the best of friends - as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone. Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her."
