Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton 'taking steps to heal friendship' after losing touch

Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton are taking steps to heal their once close friendship, a source reports.

The famous friends met when they were just teenagers in the TV industry, and worked closely with each other for years but have drifted apart from friendship.

The famous blonde duo have drifted apart with their once seemingly unbreakable bond diminishing as their careers have taken different paths.

Holly, 41, continues hosting This Morning and Dancing On Ice alongside her partner in crime, Phillip Schofield, while Fearne has been focussing on her successful podcast series - Happy Place.

The two successful media personalities have been focussing on their careers and family life, but apparently want to heal the rift in their friendship, according to an inside source, writes the Mirror.

"Holly and Fearne are in touch more than ever after rekindling their friendship. They had grown apart over the years as their careers and lives took them in different directions, but now they have so much in common - bonding over juggling motherhood, their careers, and their mental health," an insider told Closer.

"When they got back in touch, they both admitted fault over the fact they had gone so long without checking in with each other, and it quickly felt as though no time had passed at all. They were just as close as they always were," they added.

While the pair have now rekindled their friendship, they appeared to drift apart due to their very different social lives.

As Holly famously enjoyed boozy award nights out with her This Morning family, including Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, Fearne had no qualms about admitting that her social circle was 'miniscule' compared to Holly's - and she much preferred being tucked up in bed for 10pm rather than boozing it up.

However, when Holly found herself feeling 'numb and adrift' ahead of turning 40 last February, Fearne was one of the first friends she reached out to despite their rift.

“Fearne is the best friend you could ask for because she has advice on almost every topic thanks to her podcast, and sometimes Holly feels as though nobody knows her better than Fearne,” the source revealed.

“They have so much common ground and history together and Holly has been relying on Fearne for advice on self-help. It’s really helped that she understands the pressures of the TV industry, too.”
