Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left in fits of giggles on Monday’s show as the This Morning presenters interviewed an Oscar-winning special effects makeup artist.
Prosthetic pro Matthew Mungle chatted about his mould making over the years, particularly the boom in demand for prosthetic penises in Hollywood.
The special effects makeup artist touched on making a penis prosthetic for Chris Hemsworth for one hilarious scene in the 2015 road comedy Vacation.
As they chatted, Phillip was forced to apologise at one point for laughing as the makeup artist spoke.
Matthew, who has been nominated five times for the Academy Award for Best Makeup, winning in 1992 for Bram Stoker's Dracula, said the film production team wanted a “bigger” penis than the Thor star possessed for the scene.
He explained: “It was through underwear, so we had to decide how big the penis was and how it was going to be attached to him. I think the scene is just funnier than funny.”
Phillip then replied: “If you’re going to do something like that, it would be nice if you could do it with your own.”
He then quipped: “If you're deciding you’re going to do it with a prosthetic, I want a proper schlong.”
Matthew replied: “You bet. That’s usually what they want. A bigger schlong, maybe bigger testicles too.”
Holly and Phillip were once again giggling in the ITV studio, as Holly described it as “quite the wish list”.
She said of Chris’s intimate prosthetic: “He was quite happy with that, wasn’t he? Because he took it home.”
Matthew explained that the Vacation production gifted Hemsworth the prosthetic penis in a shadow box, adding that the Marvel star put it on a mantelpiece in his home alongside his mjolnir hammer from the Thor franchise.
Matthew quipped: “So he’s got both hammers together,” before Holly laughed saying: “You don’t want to mix those two up.”
Matthew then chatted about making a pair of prosthetic testicles for Will Ferrell for the hit comedy Step Brothers, which the actor had to smear over the drums of his co-star in an infamous scene.
The Anchorman actor also still has the pair of fake testicles and got them out during an interview on The Graham Norton Show.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
