Holidaymakers heading to Spain need to check their vaccine status as rules change

Holidaymakers travelling from the UK to Spain will need to check they comply with new Covid entry rules. The restrictions around vaccines have eased - meaning people should check their status.

Those aged 12 to 17 who have not received a booster jab, but have been given two doses of a two-dose vaccine or a single dose of a one-dose vaccine approved by use by Spain, are allowed to enter the country. The 270-day expiry date does not apply to children over 12 and under 18, the Liverpool Echo reports.

"If you are over 12 years old and under 18 years old, you will be considered as vaccinated even if 270 days have passed since the last dose without having received the booster dose," Spain's official Travel Safe website says. Children aged under 12 do not need to present evidence of being fully vaccinated in order to enter Spain.
