Perth Wildcats centre Matthew Hodgson is set to miss one NBL match for striking Sydney Kings guard Dejan Vasiljevic twice after he fronted an NBL tribunal.
Hodgson was charged over incidents during his team's 96-81 loss to the Kings at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday.
Tribunal chair Ben Ihle on Friday cleared Hodgson of a melee charge, but handed him a three-game ban on two charges of striking Vasiljevic - with two of them suspended.
"I must have regard to the context of totality, and in that totality have regard to Mr. Hodgson's good character," Ihle said.
"l also have regard to the fact that he's acknowledged his acceptance of these wrongdoings, both publicly and before this tribunal."
The tribunal's decision means Hodgson will miss only Perth's game against fellow title contenders South East Melbourne Phoenix on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Hodgson issued an apology via the clubs' Instagram saying his actions were out of character and that he'd let down his teammates, club and fans.
"To Dejan, I'm sorry, there is no excuse for my behaviour," he said.
"I take full responsibility for my actions and will make every effort to improve myself physically and mentally before returning to the court."
