Hit London banks with windfall tax up to £60bn to cut energy bills for less well off, Andy Burnham union ally urges

A union boss is urging Andy Burnham to impose an extra windfall tax on London banks of up to £60 billion.

Paul Nowak, General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), is calling for a major hike in the tax surcharge on banks to fund cuts in energy bills for poorer households.
