The victim of a hit-and-run crash in the car park of an Adelaide fast food outlet has died in hospital weeks after she was struck.
Police have appealed to the public for dashcam footage of the early morning crash last month, and are also investigating an incident in which three people were lucky to avoid injuries when their ute was hit by a freight train east of Adelaide overnight.
The hit-and-run victim — a 56-year-old woman from Ascot Park — was struck by a car at about 6:15am on March 4 outside the Hungry Jack's outlet on the corner of Grote Street and West Terrace in Adelaide's CBD.
The car left the scene and the woman was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital but died on Thursday.
Major Crash officers have appealed to the public for any dashcam footage and have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The number of lives lost on South Australia's roads this year now stands at 39 compared to 17 at the same time 12 months ago.
Ute occupants 'shaken up' but avoid injury
Police are also investigating an incident in which a freight train hit a Holden ute in Murray Bridge East early this morning.
Police believe the driver "had attempted to cross the rail crossing" on Pfeiler Road but became stuck on the tracks and was hit by the oncoming freight train at about 2am.
"The driver and two passengers attempted to move the vehicle but were unable to do so before the crash occurred," police said.
"The car occupants and the driver of the train were shaken up but received no injuries."
