The company behind a former royal residence that's now a Signature Living hotel has entered administration.
Newly-filed documents have revealed that advisory firm Kroll has been appointed to oversee Rainhill Hall, a grade II-listed country house that dates back to 1824.
The building was a retreat house run by the Society of Jesus and known as Loyola Hall for almost 90 years to 2014 and has operated as a hotel and wedding venue since 2017.

According to new filings with The Gazette, has been appointed as administrator for Loyola Hall Limited as well as Signature Living Lifestyles Limited and Signature Eden Limited.
Under its previous name as Loyola Hall, the venue briefly hosted the North Korea football team during the 1966 World Cup. Before that it had been home to Princess Evelyn Blücher.
Separately, Signature Living Preston Limited, the company that runs The Shankly Hotel in Preston has also entered administration.
Matthew Ingram and Michael Vincent Lennon of Kroll Advisory have been appointed to oversee the administration process.
The hotel is housed in a 118-year old building that was bought from Preston City Council in 2018.
The grade II-listed building includes a 65-room hotel with bar, restaurant and wedding and events suite.
Kroll declined to comment on the company administrations.
The news comes after the ECHO reported how a well-known Liverpool venue owed more than £9m when it collapsed into administration.
Alma De Cuba is a restaurant, bar as well as private hire and events venue based in the grade II-listed former St Peters Church in Seel Street.
It was acquired by Signature Living for £3.1m in 2017 to become one of its 60 entities that trade as hospitality, hotel and residential property operators and developers.
