A historic Edinburgh townhouse could see a huge renovation to bring it into the 21st century if plans go ahead.
Located in the heart of the city centre, the property at Moray Place was first built in 1822 and has remained almost unchanged since the Victorian era.
Split over five floors, the impressive building is still in a great condition, but its current owners are hoping to make a number of changes to the interior.

Proposals submitted to the council last week have detailed the huge refurbishment planned for the site, from turning cupboards into bathrooms to demolishing an additional extension.
As well as making repairs to the inner lift which was installed back in the 1930s, the plans would also see a number of changes to the layout on the lower ground floor, including putting in a new sitting dining room and kitchen, as well as a new bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.

Downstairs, other changes would see the occupants living in luxury, with hopes to even install a sauna.
In addition, the current single-storey extension out the back of the townhouse would be demolished, and rebuilt with a slightly smaller replacement.
Described as being a “number of different ad hoc buildings” by developers, the current modern extension is said to be of poor quality, with the new addition to allow for a new kitchen and family room.
Submitted on April 26, a final decision is yet to be made on the alterations for the A-listed building.
