A beautiful city centre townhouse with attached private driveway has hit the market, taking offers over £1.9 million.

The stunning Edinburgh townhouse offers five bedrooms and an attached driveway in the heart of the West End. Within walking distance to Haymarket, the home is arranged over floor levels on Walker Street.

“Walker Street forms a key part of a fine classical grouping, trying together key residential components of the plan. The terrace demonstrates a well-detailed architectural treatment and is a good example of the late Georgian style in which the Walker Estate was designed.”

The townhouse at 27 Walker Street offers five floors of space, with each floor retaining original features while incorporating modern décor. Close to some of the city’s best schools, transport links, and architecture - it’s the dream home.

Rettie & Co, who are advertising the property, said: “An exception, beautifully presented complete Georgian townhouse with private driveway for two cars (tandem parking and electric charging point) in the heart of the West End with its vibrant village atmosphere of coffee spots, wine bars, restaurants, and independent shops as well as proximity to the city centre, financial and business districts.

“The property, fully refurbished throughout in recent years to an impeccable standard, is arranged over four levels plus attic, each floor retaining perfectly preserved original features, with high specification and contemporary interiors segueing into the modern day.

“The basement level apartment with delightful courtyard garden provides rental potential if desired, with the upper floors offering flexible family living space in this splendid house, ideally located for some of the city’s best private schooling, easy access to Edinburgh Airport via tram line, surrounded by the stunning architecture of this impressive street.”

The townhouse is just 0.4 miles from Haymarket, and 1 mile from Edinburgh Waverley Station.

The architect, Robert Brown, designed several urban schemes between 1810 and 1830 including laying out streets in Portobello, Newinton, and The Queen’s Hall. The Walker Estate is amongst some of his most notable works - with this townhouse making up part of the stunning area.
