Hinge and Bracket star George Logan dies as tributes flood in for Scots actor

George Logan Evadne Hinge Phillip Schofield Rutherglen

Hinge and Bracket star George Logan has passed away aged 78 as tributes have poured in for the Scots star.

The star, from Rutherglen, was best known for his part in the long-running musical duo, in which he played Dr Evadne Hinge, and his family confirmed the news on Sunday.

Broadcaster and author Gyles Brandreth said Hinge and Bracket was "one of the great joys of my life" as he scripted the TV series and specials of Dear Ladies with Hinge and Bracket, as writes the Mirror.
