The debate began when a self-described nationalist account on X (formerly Twitter) criticized the construction of a new Hindu temple in Plano, Texas, part of the rapidly growing Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex. The post highlighted what it claimed was the “18th” Hindu temple in the region, framing the development as evidence of an unchecked cultural shift.
Accompanied by a video—featuring 3D renderings and footage of intricate granite carvings—the post referred to the upcoming Sri Ganesha Temple, a 20,000-square-foot structure expected to open in late 2026. The account alleged that the increasing number of temples signaled a coordinated effort to transform local neighborhoods and institutions, stating, “Temples everywhere, neighbourhoods transformed, schools completely changed, culture erased. This isn't random. It’s 100% coordinated.”
