Just like many others across the country, Hina Khan, too, mourned the demise of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar who breathed her last on February 6. The singer's passing away has left a huge void in the music industry and several actors in showbiz are now recalling their fondest memories with Lata Didi and her eternal songs. Hina is one of them.
The actress took to her social media account to share how it was her father who introduced her to Lata Ji's music. She shared her favourite song and also added how just like her, her father too would have felt the legendary singer's demise as a 'personal loss'.
Hina posted the message along with a video wherein she can be seen singing magical and unforgettable numbers by Lata Mangeshkar. She also declared at the outset that she is nowhere close to Lata Ji's singing but it's her attempt to pay her a tribute from her side.
She wrote, "My father introduced me to Lata Ji’s eternal songs when I was just a little girl. He was a fan himself and made me a fan forever too. Like you all know “LAG JAA GALE” is my forever fav song..I know he would’ve felt like it’s a personal loss. Just like me and I am sure every Indian must be feeling the same. It’s impossible for this country to forget her magical voice. Her songs are a mammoth creative legacy."
She added, "Here is a rookie but genuine attempt to pay my tribute to the Nightingale of India Bharat Ratna Late Shri Lata Mangeshkar Ji. I can not even come close to her shadow in singing but my heart doesn’t know and I could not stop myself from sharing this with you. #latamangeshkar."
Not just Hina but several in the television industry mourned her demise including Nakuul Mehta, Arti Singh, Kapil Sharma, Rajiv Adatia, Rubina Dilaik among others.
Lata Mangeshkar (92) died in Mumbai after her month-long battle with Covid-19. She was also diagnosed with pneumonia. Though she showed slight improvement in health around January 28, she was put back on ventilator on February 5 and declared critical by the city hospital where she was admitted for treatment.
