A Hillingdon councillor has urged social media platforms and politicians to introduce stronger safeguards for elected representatives after AI-generated images portraying her were shared online by the borough's Conservative Party.
Sital Punja, a Labour councillor on Tory-controlled Hillingdon Council, said the AI-manipulated images depicting her relied on what she described as "racist and antisemitic tropes".
