A hilarious clip of a man being ambushed by a crazed duck at a fishery has gone viral after being viewed millions of times in just one day. The video, which was shared on TikTok, shows Aaron Somerville, from Fife, visiting Balmule Valley Fishery near Dunfermline with his fiancée, Catherine Farmer, at around 4pm on Saturday.
As the dad-of-two reaches his hand down, the animal, believed to be a Cayuga duck, leaps from the water and flies towards him. It then goes on to peck his ankles and proceeds to chase him around a walkway as he runs in the opposite direction, attempting to escape the furious bird's snapping beak.
As the comical scene unfolds, the 30-year-old can be heard shouting: "Ah, ya b*****d." The couple's little one, Thomas, also shouts: "Daddy!" while the wild waterfowl flaps its wings at the dad, who is seen bolting in the opposite direction.
The hilarious video has received over 8million views in less than 24 hours. Speaking to the Record, Aaron, from Kirkcaldy, laughed: "It was certainly eventful. I had just taken the little one fishing for the first time and at the point when the video was being taken I had just caught a fish.
"We were recording to show Thomas' first catch and he was warning me that the duck was coming but I had no idea - and then it grabbed my hand. I was stuck in two minds about what to do. People were surrounding me watching and I didn't want to kick it, so I just kept running.
"Even after the video cut off it was still going for me. I bought my son a bubble wand and I was using that to try and push it away from me. Thankfully it eventually went back into the water."
Aaron, who works as a manager at a food factory, continued: "We have no idea why it went for me - but it decided it was going for me and no one else. My son was clapping his hands in hysterics."
Catherine posted the footage on TikTok to give their friends and family a laugh, but they never expected it to go viral. Aaron said: "I've had so many people contact me - it's crazy. It's had millions of views now. It's nuts. It's been good though, it's a good laugh."
As well as Scots, Spaniards, Germans and Russians are among the viewers in the comment section laughing at the raging duck.
Andy H commented: "One of the funniest things I've seen for ages." Another user wrote: "I thought Scotsmen were a tough breed" with loads of laughing emojis.
And another person, named Evie, said: "The duck really said 'get outta ma pub'."
