Hiker airlifted to hospital in multi-emergency response after injury on Scots hill

A hiker has been airlifted to hospital after becoming injured on a Scots hill.

A multi-emergency response was drafted into the rescue mission on the Ochil Hills, Clackmannanshire at 4pm on Saturday, May 7.

The woman had been climbing up Law Hill before she injured her leg.

A strong crew of around 20 people from Ochils Mountain Rescue, the Scottish Ambulance Service 's Special Operation Team (SORT) and Helimed 5 worked to bring the hillwalker to safety.

The casualty was rescued via a stretcher (Ochils Mountain Rescue Team)

She was carried via a stretcher to the rescue helicopter and transported to hospital.

A spokesperson for Ochils Mountain Rescue Team said: "We worked in conjunction with the Scottish Ambulance Services SORT and Helimed 5.

"We got the casualty into a stretcher then transported her up to where the rescue helicopter had landed.

"She was evacuated to hospital for medical treatment."
