MANGALURU: Five Muslim girl students of University College, Hampankatta, which was caught in the hijab row, have written to the college administration seeking transfer certificates.
Days after the hijab row, Mangalore University vice-chancellor PS Yadapadithaya had announced that the varsity would make special arrangements for Muslim girls if they are not willing to adhere to the headscarf rule in class and want to get admitted to other colleges that permit the same. University College principal Anasuya Rai told TOI that five Muslim girl students met him a few days ago with a request letter to issue transfer certificates so that they could join other colleges.
