Leeds United are closing in on the highly anticipated appointment of head coach Daniel Farke. The Whites returned to pre-season earlier this week for testing as they gear up for life back in the Championship.
Last season's relegation from the Premier League has brought about much change at Elland Road, with the 49ers still waiting for the green light to complete their takeover at the club after agreeing a deal with Andrea Radrizzani. Leeds are yet to announce any incomings or departures ahead of next season with Farke expected to take the reins at the club and training for the remainder of the week.
The German head coach may not be the blockbuster big-name appointment some fans had expected, especially given Marcelo Bielsa was in charge during their last stint in the Championship. However, the German has two second-tier titles to his name and a wealth of experience and this level.
But what about his coaching career away from English football? Leeds Live has taken a look at some of the highs and lows of Farke's managerial career ahead of his move to Elland Road.

Promotions with Norwich City
Farke won the Championship title with the Canaries during his first full season in charge in 2018-19. Pipping the Whites to an automatic promotion spot along with Sheffield United.
Norwich sat top of the pile with 94 points but would last just one season in the Premier League. It was Farke's second Championship spell that was the most impressive.
He became just the second manager to lead City to two top-flight promotions and recorded a record 97 points for the club in their 2020/21 campaign. His side recorded a club-record 29 victories in a single season in the two top divisions and remains the only manager to win the Championship title twice with the same club.
He recorded Norwich's biggest margin of victory in the top two divisions - a 7-0 win over Huddersfield Town - and was named the LMA Sky Bet Championship manager of the season and the Football League Championship manager of the season, giving debuts to 11 academy players along the way.
Relegation from the Premier League
After romping to the Championship title with the Canaries, it was a disappointing return to the top flight. Farke's side would pick up just 21 points from 38 games.
He managed to win just five games in the Premier League before they were relegated. His Premier League record as a whole is a disappointing stain on an otherwise impressive spell in English football.
Dortmund II success
Viewed by some as the perfect successor to Jurgen Klopp - Norwich City headhunted Farke from Dortmund's reserve side where he had a stellar record. From 56 games in charge, the German accumulated 29 wins, 21 draws and just six losses during his time at Dortmund II.
It was a managerial role that kick-started his senior career.
Krasnodar exit
Farke was appointed manager of Russian side Krasnodar in 2022 but due to the winter break and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the German didn't take charge of a single game. He left the club on 2 March, along with the rest of his coaching staff.
Borussia Monchengladbach disappointment
Farke made a bright start to his time at Monchengladbach but it was a difficult tenure in the Bundesliga. He finished with a record of 12 wins, 10 draws, and 14 losses before being sacked after finishing in mid-table - seven points off a European spot.
