Rangers goalkeeper Mason Munn has joined Dumbarton on a season-long loan.

The highly-rated 20-year-old Northern Ireland Under-21 international, who has already made his senior debut for Rangers, is set to gain valuable first-team experience at The Rock under manager Frank McKeown.

Munn, who arrived at Rangers from Glentoran in 2022, has previously had loan spells with Dunfermline Athletic and Forfar Athletic.

Dumbarton manager Frank McKeown said: "Mason had strong interest from clubs in the Championship and in England earlier on in the window and it didn't quite materialise, so it's excellent business for us to get this deal over the line.

"Mason is a player that Rangers' coaching staff have extremely high hopes for, and it speaks volumes about the environment we have here that we are being trusted again to support their best talent through the next phase of his career."

McKeown also expressed confidence in Munn's potential. He said: "He gained vital experience last season during his loan spells, but now he's determined to be a number one and get regular games under his belt.

"Competition for the number one jersey will be fierce, which can only help all of our keepers in their development."

He continued: "Mason has all the attributes and attitude to go far in the game, and myself and the coaching team are excited to work with him."

The loan move provides Munn with the opportunity to further develop his skills and gain regular match experience.
