The Georgia Bulldogs made a major addition to their defensive line with the announcement of their sixth commitment in the class of 2025. Three-star defensive tackle Stephon Shivers announced Friday afternoon that he had chosen the Dawgs over numerous other competitors, including his home state Tennessee Volunteers.
Shivers, a 6’5 and 366 pound interior defender, played his high school career at Humboldt High. He totaled 20 tackles for loss and 11 sacks last season while also playing on the offensive line and at running back. In addition to cross training positionally in football, Shivers has scored over a thousand points for his high school basketball team, showcasing unique athleticism for a defensive tackle.
Shivers is the second defensive lineman to commit to the Dawgs this cycle, joining five-star Justus Terry. When describing why he chose Georgia, Shivers said, “It just feels like family. They’ve got great coaches. I’ve got a great relationship with them. They really develop their players on and off the field.”
