Start your engines! A race car from the highly anticipated “Gran Turismo” film is set to be auctioned.
The Nissan GT-R GT3 features in the movie inspired by the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a teenage gamer aspiring to be a race car driver.
The estimate for the sale of the car at the Silverstone Festival on August 25 is £225,000 – £275,000 ($288,815- $352,996).
“This outstanding Nissan GT-R race car is not only one of the star cars of the motion picture ‘Gran Turismo,’ but is the most successful GT-R R35 GT3 still in private hands,” said Silverstone Auctions.
“This car is not only central to the film and can be seen in all of the promotional material but also is an important part of the real GT Academy story.”
GT Academy provided skilled Gran Turismo players an opportunity to earn a real-life professional racing career with Nissan.
The Nissan for sale has recently been owned by the creator of GT Academy, Darren Cox, who is played by Orlando Bloom in the Gran Turismo film.
“As well as being prominent in all of the pre-promotion material, the car features heavily in the film as central to Jann’s journey,” Silverstone Auctions said.
“To add to the interest, Jann was the stunt driver in the film and drove the GT3 several times as he did in real life when the car was active as a Nissan Europe works car.
“Significantly, the car finished ninth in the Nurburgring 24 hours in 2015; Nissan’s best result in recent history.”The Nissan for sale has recently been owned by the creator of GT Academy,
