Highlights from Broncos rookie camp, OTAs and minicamp

The Denver Broncos wrapped up mandatory minicamp earlier this week and the team’s spring work has now completed.

The Broncos started their offseason program on April 15, followed by organized team activities in late May and early June. The spring schedule then wrapped up with a two-day minicamp earlier this week.

Denver coach Sean Payton said this year’s offseason felt different to last spring’s — in a good way.

“We have good competition,” Payton said. “Obviously, in all of the numbers and metrics that we track, you can kind of see it now [with] Catapult. You see all the distance — I won’t bore you — all the miles per hour and all of that stuff and then the attendance. I would say the competition sharpens things. We have it at a lot of spots. It was different and felt different this year in a good way.”

Players now have a summer break until training camp begins in late July. The team’s training camp schedule is expected to be announced later this month.

The biggest competition the Broncos will have this summer is at quarterback, a battle that will heat up at training camp next month. While we wait for camp to arrive, here are highlights from the team’s spring practices.
