The Highlands has been named as the UK's best area for camping, according to recent research.
Almost 1.2 million people regularly camp in the UK and according to Aqua’s recent study that explores which locations are the best for a summer camping holiday, the Highlands have come out on top.
The study considered aspects like the number of walking trails, how many campsites there are available, the average cost to pitch a tent and average rainfall to find the best spots to camp this year.
Camping has become a popular choice for UK holidaymakers amid the cost-of-living crisis as holidays abroad have become increasingly expensive.
At an average cost of £56 to pitch a tent, the Highlands have become a more affordable option for many holidaymakers.
It also has the third highest number of walking trails from the top 10 locations on the list with just Hampshire and the Lake District beating it.
However, the Highlands is the only Scottish entry in the top 10.
