There’s nothing like making your own Christmas wreath or perhaps a selfie with a Highland coo to kick start the festivities.
Glenapp Castle, near Ballantrae in South Ayrshire, is offering a range of exciting new indoor and outdoor activities this winter to add to their already impressive portfolio of over 65 activities.
Unique Highland cow tours offer guests the opportunity to get up close to the cute cattle in a safari-like trailer and snap selfies to share with friends.
A Christmas wreath workshop and wild swimming massage package are also part of the Relais & Chateaux five star hotel’s offerings.
Three ‘Kitchen Coos and Ewes’ Highland cow tours, which can be organised via the hotel’s team who can advise on availability and pricing, enable guests to view the hairy friends in their happy hillside environment and learn about local Scottish produce.
The Haute Coo Tour is a bespoke experience where guests will visit the Castle’s Highland cows and capture some memorable pictures.
For those who would rather enjoy the comfort of a weather-proof farm tour, they can take the Private Cream Tea Coo Tour and enjoy sights of the Castle’s record-breaking flock of Beltex sheep, before returning to the farm for a cream tea with the hosts.
And the Private Insta Coo Tour gets guests quickly out onto the hill in the trailer, where plenty of time for photos can be had before returning for some traditional baked goods, fresh from the farmhouse kitchen.
For the more indoors and crafty guests, a Christmas wreath making workshop could be the festive activity for you.
The hands-on learning experience from Glenapp’s expert in-house florist will have you not only decking the halls but creating a unique, handcrafted Christmas wreath to take home and proudly display on your front door.
After using foliage from the Glenapp gardens, festive baubles, elegant ribbons and dried fruits to create your wreath, guests can relax and enjoy a delicious festive afternoon tea in Glenapp’s new Azalea Glasshouse Restaurant.
The Christmas wreath making workshop, priced at £95 per person, is available every Tuesday and Friday afternoon from now until December 6, starting at 1pm in The Azalea Restaurant.
In-room massages are also on this year’s winter offerings, providing a combination of deep tissue and traditional Swedish massage techniques.
A Wild Swimming & Massage package offers the opportunity to jump into one of the local lochs or even the sea!
An instructor will join guests in the water throughout the experience and a hot drink will be provided to help warm guests back up.
