Highest kick in rugby history causes chaos and leaves commentators in disbelief

"It's up there forever, it's the highest kick in history!" The commentary team couldn't believe their eyes when Matt Burton stuck the ball into the stratosphere.

The video of this monstrous kick has been hugely popular on TikTok in the past week, having garnered over 638,000 views already.

The match took place last Wednesday, in a big State Of Origin clash between Queensland Maroons and New South Wales. The stadium was packed as 52,000 supporters watched 22-year-old Burton blast his kick above the stadium lights.

State Of Origin is an annual competition where two Australian state sides compete against each other in a best-of-three series.

Incredibly, this is the second time that Burton has grabbed headlines for his astounding kicking ability. Just three weeks ago in the first match he again captured the attention of the internet.

Burton, who is currently on a $500,000 a year contract with Canterbury Bulldogs, has been tipped as a future NFL star.
