Gardai are to conduct high visibility patrols at a beach across the summer months after a mass brawl broke out.
Footage of the alleged public order incident on Burrow Beach in Sutton in North Dublin on Sunday emerged online. It showed the violent scenes unfolding on the packed beach as crowds of youths were gathered in the sand dunes.
Gardai have confirmed they responded to the reports of the public order incident and no arrests were made but inquiries are ongoing. In a statement An Garda Siochana said: “Uniform gardai from the Raheny District and the public order unit attended the scene where a presence was maintained until large crowds that had gathered there for much of the day had dispersed safely.”
