Hibs player ratings v Rangers as Cabraja shows unbelievable resilience and Youan displays potential

Hibs fought back from a goal down twice to ensure a pulsating point against Rangers in a 2-2 Premiership affair.

The first half brought few chances but the away side should have been ahead when Tom Lawrence was presented a chance to put a shot home inside the box, but he opted to pass to Ryan Kent and the chance was gone. Hibs boss Lee Johnson opted to make a double sub after 30 minutes as Paul Hanlon and Ewan Henderson were subbed amid a pack shuffle following an aggressive start from his team.

Rangers nudged ahead through a James Tavernier penalty following a challenge on Antonio Colak by Rocky Bushiri was deemed a foul by referee Willie Collum, but Hibs levelled five minutes after half-time via Martin Boyle. More drama commenced as after Lawrence put the travelling party back in front, Josh Campbell levelled in stoppage time after Rangers red cards for John Lundstram and Alfredo Morelos. Here is how we rated the Hibs men.

David Marshall - 6

A couple of needed stops and good distribution but Rangers didn't threaten him too often throughout the match.

Chris Cadden - 7

Got up and down the right-hand-side all afternoon once more and took advantage of some Borna Barisic lapses in concentration.

Rocky Bushiri - 6

Arguably unfortunate for the penalty but gives ref a decision to make. Could have had a penalty according to his boss.

Ryan Porteous - 7

Subbed late on after missing some of this week illness, not that you would have known after a typically aggressive display.

Paul Hanlon - 2

Subbed in the first half in a switch that saw Marijan Cabraja go to left-back, Josh Campbell to midfield and Rocky Bushiri into his position of left-centre-back.

Martin Boyle - 7

Quiet game but popped to level the game up for a brief period. His first start this season and still getting up to speed, but getting close to full sharpness with more minutes.

Jake Doyle-Hayes - 6

Plenty of running about from the midfielder who put in an industrious shift against tough opposition.

Josh Campbell - 7

Started the game in an unnatural left-back role before moving into his usual midfield capacity, where he scored a great leveller.

Joe Newell - 6

Was voted the Man of the Match and was improved from his display at Livingston last weekend.

Ewan Henderson - 2

Subbed after 30 minutes without sign of injury or illness. Hadn't made much of an impact.

Elie Youan - 7

Plenty of effort and looked the most likely route to goal for Hibs. Bags of pace and made Craig Gordon work.

Christian Doidge - 4

Subbed on after a half-hour as part of Johnson's double sub.

Marijan Cabraja - 9

Subbed on with 30 minutes gone after a difficult week dealing with a family bereavement. Unenviable task versus Rabbi Matondo and James Tavernier but was superb and was emotional at full-time. A show of steel.

Lewis Miller - 3

Came on to aid the attacking efforts on the flanks.

Momodou Bojang - 2

Brought on in stoppage time.
