Hibs line up transfer swoop for Harry McKirdy after 18 goals for Swindon Town

Hibs are reportedly lining up a transfer swoop for Swindon Town forward Harry McKirdy.

The Easter Road side are said to have made the 25-year-old a key target for the summer window, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

McKirdy is the League Two side's top scorer this season with 18 - and has added nine assists to that.

He is still contracted to Town until next summer, so would command a fee.

But it's reported that the Hibees are willing to stump up.

The forward was snapped up by Swindon last summer after being released by Port Vale, and immediately put that disappointment behind him.

McKirdy has been injured in recent weeks but Swindon manager Ben Garner suggested he could return in some capacity this weekend.

He spent time in the academies of Aston Villa and Stoke City before spells with Stevenage, Crewe, Alexandra, Newport County and Carlisle United.

Hibs have struggled for goals under Maloney, and that was multiplied when main striker Kevin Nisbet was ruled out for the season and beyond.

Christian Doidge has struggled for form since his return from injury, while 19-year-old Elias Melkersen has shown ability in flashes.
