Hibs are said to be challenging English Championship duo Blackpool and Reading for the signature of Charlton winger Charlie Kirk.
Easter Road boss Lee Johnson is said to be keen on a move for the 24-year-old who made a move to The Addicks last summer after a lengthy spell at Crewe. He spent part of last season on loan at Blackpool and was named on the bench for Charlton's opening League One match against Accrington Stanley, drawing 2-2.
According to transfer guru Alan Nixon, Hibs want to add him to their ranks after an injury to summer signing Aiden McGeady leaves them shorter in the wide department. The former Sunderland star is out of action for a minimum of six weeks after the reoccurrence of a knee injury in a pre-season friendly against Norwich City last month. Kirk only has 14 Charlton appearances but scored 32 times with 41 assists over 206 outings at Crewe.

Johnson said of potentially recruiting a new forward-thinking player: "We’re in the market still. I’m happy with the squad.
"So, yes, we want probably a couple of different options, a different style of player, particularly now that McGeady’s out. But if we go with what we’ve got then I’m more than happy with that."
