Hibs duo receive work permits as Lee Johnson poses 'mope or crack on' question ahead of league start

Hibs duo Marijan Cabraja and Elie Youan have handed their new club a boost as they finally receive their work permits.

The Easter Road club have been left frustrated after other signings like Jair Tavares and Momodou Bojang were delayed in making their debuts due to red tape. Left-back Cabraja and forward Youan didn't feature in their calamitous Premier Sports Cup group stage campaign that saw the club exit that competition but could feature versus St Johnstone on Saturday.

It'll be Lee Johnson's first Premiership match in charge of Hibs and he insists there's no time for feeling sorry for themselves. A defeat to League One side Falkirk was poor and a 3-0 loss to Morton due to an ineligible player - Rocky Bushiri - was even worse after an initial 1-1 draw. But the former Sunderland boss insists that his Hibs side are ready to get going again on league business.

He said: "For me it is what is is, it’s disappointing. Understandably it was a bit of a shambles on and off the pitch but what do you want to do, mope or crack on?

"We’ll get the boys ready for what’s a really important start to the season. I just want to get 15, 16, the ones that you are going to use on a regular basis, together - cohesive, tight.

"We have a lot to learn about each other in terms of personalities, when you sign a lot of new players like we have it’s going to take time to blend them all.

Hibernian Manager Lee Johnson (SNS Group)

"There have been some really good signs, take the five, six games we’ve had. In certain games we’ve looked the real deal, in other games we’ve looked miles off and struggled to break team downs a little bit.

"Defensively we’ve been pretty organised and consistent, this is an ever moving set of scenarios that we have to deal with the best we can."
