Hibs are likely to be without Joe Newell for their next two fixtures.
The 28-year-old is set to miss the trip to face Rangers on Wednesday and the weekend clash away to Arbroath in the Scottish Cup.
It's a major blow to Shaun Maloney ahead of two pivotal games after a disappointing run of results.
Newell was ruled out of Hibs' defeat to St Mirren on Saturday at Easter Road.
According to the Edinburgh Evening News, the midfielder faces a couple of weeks on the sidelines.
Newell sustained the injury in the Edinburgh derby draw against Hearts and he limped off in the 69th minute.
The former Rotherham United man has been a regular this season under Maloney and former boss Jack Ross.
He's made 27 appearances and caretaker boss David Gray selected Newell as captain against St Mirren, after Ross' dismissal.
Hibs boss Maloney, however, could be boosted by the return of captain Paul Hanlon and Paul McGinn for clash against Rangers.
