Hibs have confirmed friendlies against Paul Hartley’s Hartlepool United and Burton Albion as they prepare to kick off their pre-season schedule.
New boss Lee Johnson will get down to work with his squad when they return from their summer break this Saturday.
New faces including David Marshall and Nohan Kenneh will be among the group although Lewis Miller remains on Asian Cup duty with Australia Under 23s.
Hibs will then step up their preparations when they head out to the Algarve for a training camp in the Portuguese sun with friendlies against Hartlepool scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s Burton on Friday, July 1.
Both matches will be played at the Amendoeira Golf Resort with 11am kick off times and limited access of around 200 spaces for supporters. An open training session will be held on Thursday, June 30, with supporters in the area again welcome to attend.
Johnson continues to build his squad for the new campaign with Aiden McGeady still a target.
But Hibs have decided against moving for Portsmouth winger Ronan Curtis.
The Ireland winger was on Johnson’s list of targets but the Easter Road club have ended their interest in the 26-year-old who is also being chased by Blackburn, Preston and Cardiff City.
Johnson spoke of the importance of pre-season for getting his side into shape and ready to hit the ground running - and admitted he’d like to have had his players in earlier with the competitive campaign kicking off on July 9 with a League Cup clash against Clyde.
He said: “We’re a little bit late back if I’m being honest, that was already set in stone.
"Considering our first competitive game is mid-July in the cup, we want to be successful in it as well, it really only gives us 17 or 18 training days.
“Pre-season is absolutely paramount to a successful season, there is going to be a lot to learn for the lads, they’re going to need to have that growth mindset really from the minute they walk through the door and they have to be fired with enthusiasm because it’s what we want.
“If we want to play that style of football, they are going to need to come in every day with enthusiasm and an attitude to be the best version of themselves.
“It requires motivated players and the physical element will be difficult in pre-season. In an ideal world I’d want a five-week lead in, minimum."
Hibs will face Norwich City in a friendly at Easter Road at 2pm on Sunday, July 24, six days before the Premiership season gets underway.
