The Scottish FA have confirmed that Hibernian manager Lee Johnson has picked up a one-match suspension.
The Easter Road boss was shown a yellow card by referee Steven McLean during Saturday’s controversial 3-1 defeat to Celtic in Glasgow.
He was cautioned on behalf of the whole Hibs backroom staff after an extra ball was thrown onto the pitch from the visitors’ bench by an unidentified figure during first-half injury-time.
Johnson joked after the Parkhead encounter that whoever was responsible would be ‘fined two weeks’ wages’.
But the incident will have more serious repercussions after the booking, his fourth of the season, took the Englishman over the disciplinary threshold and landed him a touchline ban that kicks in 14 days later.
A Hampden spokesperson said: "Lee Johnson has been reported for his fourth caution in a season and will be suspended from 1 April 2023."
The 41-year-old will now be forced to sit in the stand for Hibs’ next outing, at home to Motherwell a week on Saturday, in a game that could prove crucial in the club’s bid to land a top-six finish.
The capital outfit slipped below Aberdeen into fifth place at the weekend and, with just four games to go, have only a two-point advantage over St Mirren in seventh.
