Motherwell moved further away from the Premiership drop-zone with a commanding win over Hibs at Easter Road.
The Lanarkshire side showed they're no fools on April 1, as set-piece goals from Sean Goss and Kevin van Veen saw them pretty much home and dry by 52 minutes.
Sean Goss got Motherwell off the mark in eight minutes with a cracker into the top right corner, van Veen struck a 52nd-minute penalty and then rattled in a ferocious free kick with nine minutes left for his 20th goal of the season.
Though Kevin Nisbet pulled a goal back in 62 minutes, it was consolation for the mis-firing Edinburgh giants.
This result moves Motherwell up to eighth in the table, 11 points off bottom-placed Dundee United and nine ahead of Ross County, who host Celtic tomorrow.
Motherwell attacked early on in the game, with Marshall making a smart block from van Veen, before they took the lead.
Hibs had a few good chances after that, with Kevin Nisbet seeing a header well saved, before Chris Cadden curled a shot round a post.
But Motherwell finished the half fairly strongly, with van Veen slipping a low shot past the post when he should probably have scored.
Motherwell scored their penalty early on in the second half, and after Nisbet's goal, Hibs threw everything they had at the visitors in a bid to find an equaliser.
But the game was put beyond doubt when van Veen arrowed a free kick into the bottom corner with nine minutes left.
Hibs boss Lee Johnson made three changes from the side that lost 3-1 at Celtic Park last time out. Matthew Hoppe, Chris Cadden and Kevin Nisbet came in for Marijan Cabraja, Lewis Miller and suspended Elie Youan.
His Motherwell counterpart Stuart Kettlewell made one change to the side that lost 4-2 at home to Rangers a fortnight ago, with fit-again Mikael Mandron in for suspended Callum Slattery.
New signing, midfielder Harry Paton, was on the bench.
Motherwell created the first real chance in six minutes when Blair Spittal sent Kevin van Veen through on goal, but Hibs goalkeeper David Marshall came out well to block.
And Motherwell took the lead two minutes later when they were awarded a free kick just outside the box and Goss stepped up to curl a superb set-piece into the top right corner and in off the underside of the bar.
Hibs nearly levelled in 12 minutes when Matthew Hoppe tore down the right and his cut-back was heading for Nisbet before it was booted clear by Calum Butcher.
Nisbet then went close with a header, which Liam Kelly superbly put over the top right corner.
Chris Cadden then curled a shot just over the top left corner in 22 minutes as Hibs continued to press.
Motherwell should have doubled their lead in 32 minutes when Kelly's kick-out was knocked on to van Veen to chase, and he clipped a low shot past outrushing Marshall, but it crept just wide of the right post.
Paul McGinn tried an audacious lob from just inside the Hibs half in 37 minutes, but it was no real trouble for Marshall.
Motherwell doubled their lead from the spot in 52 minutes when Marshall clattered Spittal on his way through to goal, and though Marshall guessed the right way, van Veen's penalty squirmed in at the right corner.
But Hibs pulled a goal back in 62 minutes when Nisbet headed in at the right post, following a flowing move.
Sub Harry McKirdy nearly levelled a with a drive from the right wing that flashed narrowly wide of the left post in 64 minutes.
