A 16-year-old girl, Linoy Amzaleg, was injured in Kiryat Bialik this morning during a Hezbollah rocket attack. She described the terrifying moment when a rocket blew the door off her house while she and her family were hiding in a shelter.
Amzaleg recounted the chaos, stating, 'We closed the door, the window, everything was locked. The explosion took out the house's door from its position. We had two rockets hitting - one in the yard and one in the access road across from the house.'
Speaking from Rambam hospital with visible cuts on her face, Amzaleg detailed the impact of the attack. 'There was a loud boom in the air, and a flame started from the explosion. It shattered our shelter's window, the entire metal window moved out of its place, the glass broke, and the cars were set on fire. The explosion of the cars hit the window and resulted in shrapnel hitting my face.'
She further explained that the family sought shelter for ten minutes before leaving, and she discovered blood running down her face. 'I'm now suffering from headaches, my face is in pain, the side's a bit swollen, and I still have some glasses and there's anxiety. I keep rewinding it, again and again... If we weren't inside the sheltered room, we wouldn't stand here [alive] today,' she added.
Hezbollah launched the retaliatory attack following a week of intensive Israeli attacks in Lebanon. The Israeli military reported intercepting most of the airborne weapons but confirmed impacts in Kiryat Bialik, Tsur Shalom, and Moreshet near the port city of Haifa, approximately 40 km (25 miles) south of the border.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing conflict in the region and the impact it has on civilians caught in the crossfire.
