Hezbollah Expresses Support For Syria Amid Israeli Aggression

Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, expressed its hopes for Syria to stabilize based on the choices of its people and position itself as a rejector of Israeli occupation in a statement released on Tuesday. As Iran's main proxy in the region, Hezbollah played a significant role in supporting former President Bashar al-Assad during the Syrian civil war. However, when Hezbollah withdrew its forces from Syria to focus on its conflict with Israel, it left Assad vulnerable, according to experts.

Hezbollah reiterated its commitment to supporting Syria and its people in shaping their future and confronting their common enemy, Israel. The group condemned Israel's attacks on Syrian military infrastructure and called on the international community to intervene and halt the aggression to protect the Syrian people during this critical phase of their history.

These statements from Hezbollah follow remarks made by a senior official on Monday, who described the potential toppling of Assad as a major and dangerous transformation. The official, also a member of the Lebanese parliament, highlighted the significant impact of the Syrian uprising on Lebanon and Hezbollah, emphasizing that the repercussions cannot be underestimated.
