Tottenham and South Korea forward Heung-min Son has joined Twitter.
Son is widely regarded as among the greatest Asian players in history but is one of the few big stars of the European game who has previously resisted joining the social networking site.
His account, @Sonny7 - reflecting his nickname and squad number for Spurs - launched on Tuesday afternoon in the wake of Son's match-winning performance in the 3-1 win over Leicester on Sunday, in which he scored twice.
Son already has an Instagram account with over six million followers and an official Facebook page with over five million followers. The launch of his Twitter is a coup for the platform, and expected to attract huge interest from his home country.
Spurs have looked to tap into the commerical opportunities of having the biggest star in Asian football and Son's personal Twitter account follows the launch of Tottenham's dedicated Korean account, @Spurs_KR, and a club website in Korean.

Spurs will travel to South Korea for a pre-season tour in July where they are due to play two exhibition matches and Son will be the star attraction.
Yeon-jeong Kim, the head of global Kpop and Kcontents partnerships at Twitter, said: “It was made possible thanks to Sonny's outstanding performance and enthusiastic sports fans on Twitter.
“Twitter will continue to offer a place where athletes and global fans can actively interact with one another. We’re planning a variety of activities for Sonny’s fans on Twitter.”
