Discount retailer Heron Foods is set to open a new store in a Nottinghamshire town next month. The shop, to be situated in Victoria Road, Netherfield, will created 23 jobs when it opens on April 27.
Officials at Heron Foods said they were "thrilled" to announce the store, which will offer deals and run a competition on its opening day. "Heron Foods stores add to the local community so we’re delighted to be opening a store in Netherfield, and we look forward to welcoming customers through the doors," said a spokesperson.
“I’d also like to personally thank colleagues for their efforts in getting the new store ready as well as our neighbours who have already shown support.” The chain, which is owned by B&M and has more than 300 stores across the UK, said all of its 23 full-time and part-time positions had already been filled at the new shop.
Poll: Are you worried about the number of empty shops in Nottingham city centre?
On opening day, the first 200 customers who spend £10 or more will be offered a goodie bag worth more than £10, with the first 250 receiving a scratch card for store prizes. One randomly selected customer will also receive £100 worth of store vouchers.
The store will open next door to a gym that's replaced a car showroom. Other recent Heron stores include the one in Blenheim Drive, Chilwell, which opened last year.
