Hero seven-year-old called 999 when her mum collapsed - and even gave her baby sister a bottle until help arrived

A cool, calm and collected seven-year-old girl called 999 after her mum fell unconscious - then gave her baby sister a bottle while she waited for help to arrive.

Mia Hayes leapt into action when her mum Natalie Lancaster fell ill at their home in Leigh on Thursday night. The schoolgirl used her own mobile to call for an ambulance, telling call handlers 'My mum's collapsed and she's breathing really funny', before giving their home address and postcode.

She then used her mum's phone to ring her grandma, who lives just round the corner.
