Gen Digital Inc. (GEN), headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, provides cyber safety solutions for consumers. The cybersecurity major is expected to announce its fiscal first-quarter earnings for 2025 after the market closes on Monday, Aug. 1.
Ahead of the event, analysts expect GEN to report a profit of $0.49 per share on a diluted basis, up 16.7% from $0.42 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has beaten or matched Wall Street’s EPS estimates in its last four quarterly reports.

On May 10, GEN shares rose more than 15% after reporting its Q4 results. Its revenue rose 2% year-over-year to $967 million, beating Wall Street estimates of $965 million. Its total bookings increased 2% over the prior-year quarter to $1.04 billion. The company’s non-GAAP net income increased 13.5% year-over-year to $336 million, and its non-GAAP EPS rose 15.2% year-over-year to $0.53 per share, surpassing the consensus estimates of $0.52 per share.
GEN’s board of directors authorized a $3 billion share-repurchase program, including the remaining $429 million authorization. For fiscal 2025, GEN’s revenue is expected to be between $3.89 billion and $3.93 billion, and its EPS is expected between $2.17 and $2.23. The company expects its Q1 revenue to be between $960 million and $970 million and EPS between $0.52 and $0.54.
Analysts’ consensus opinion on GEN stock is bullish, with a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Out of six analysts covering the stock, three advise a “Strong Buy” rating, and three recommend a “Hold.” The average analyst price target for GEN is $26.80, indicating a 5.2% potential upside from the current levels.
