It’s no secret that Vicky McClure is from Nottingham and known throughout the nation for her award-winning acting but have you ever wondered what life is like in the Nottingham village she lives in?
Vicky McClure, who grew up in Wollaton, went to Fernwood Comprehensive School.
Not wanting to leave her Nottingham roots, McClure now lives in Toton.
We spoke to people out and about in the village where the Line of Duty star lives to see what life is like there, with many people saying it’s quiet and peaceful.
Self-employed Amanda Atkinson, 32, moved to Toton and recently discovered it’s where the actress lives.
She said: “I love Vicky, I think she’s great.
“I’d say I’ve watched everything she’s in Line of Duty, Trigger Point. I’m now watching Our House on ITV, I love things like that.
"I never knew Vicky lived in Toton, it wasn’t until my neighbour told me a few weeks ago because I don’t read gossip magazines or anything like that. I’d love to see her but I’m really shy, I wouldn’t say anything.”
Ms Atinkson went onto speak about life in the area and said: “Toton’s really nice, it’s just a small community of people who are just kind and friendly. We can get about on the tram, we have the big Tesco and a Post Office, I really enjoy it here.”
However the owner of vintage shop Something Different, Paul Martin, didn’t know Vicky McClure lived in the area.
The 63-year-old, who lives in Chilwell, said: “The people in Toton are nice, I walk the dog up here and have one of the members of Showaddywaddy in here.
“I also like Toton because it borders on the countryside and you’re not too far from anything but I never knew Vicky McClure lived here.”
Natalie Duncan, 28,a sales assistant from Toton is also a fan of Vicky McClure but has never bumped into the British actress.
She said: “I know she lived here but I’ve never seen her. I love Line of Duty and I did watch Trigger Point too, I hope there’s a season two of that.
“I think Vicky is great and I can see why she’s chosen to live here, it’s quiet but it’s lovely to have someone famous here.”
