Style enthusiasts will be sad to hear that Ganni will not be presenting its Fall 2024 collection as part of Copenhagen Fashion Week. The Scandinavian It label has shown in the capital of Denmark for over a decade, making its absence from this season pretty remarkable.
Turns out Ganni is sitting this season out to make room for emerging Danish brands through the NEWTALENT program. "We are excited for this season, and the opportunity to continue to nurture emerging talent," explains Ganni's CEO Andrea Baldo in a recent release. "Supporting the talent incubator of Copenhagen Fashion Week feels like a natural next step for us. Taking a season off the show schedule also allows us to reconsider the vision for our shows and prioritise local key brand projects across Asia and the US, while we look forward to show seasons to come."
While Ganni will be dearly missed this season, the future of Copenhagen Fashion Week is looking very bright. "The global reach that Copenhagen Fashion Week continues to garner is testament to the role a fashion week must play in expecting positive change from international and Nordic leaders in the fashion industry," adds CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week Cecilie Thorsmark.
