Shamrock Rovers fans will soon be able to start planning for their Europa Conference League trips - with fixtures set to be agreed between Hoops officials and their counterparts from KAA Gent, Molde and Djurgardens in the coming hours.
But one of the key considerations for some of the more budget-conscious Hoops fans will be the amount they’ll have to cough up between travel, accommodation and, of course, enjoying themselves while they are there.
Rovers have landed one of the better draws in terms of travel, with Gent and Stockholm both accessible via direct flights to Brussels (plus a short train journey) and the Swedish capital.
But when it comes to the price of a pint, they have landed in the group of death.
Molde in Norway is the trickiest place to get to. There are no direct flights and a pint could set fans back as much as €9.
Those travelling to Djurgardens could expect to fork out anywhere between €6 and €7.50.
But Rovers have landed in beer heaven by drawing KAA Gent as top seeds in Group F.
Described as the ‘City of Beer’, its tourist website https://visit.gent.be/en/ghent-city-beer can direct fans to ‘hundreds of bars, shops and tasting venues’.
And a beer - often sold in 33ml glasses, with many brews stronger than regular brews - could cost as little as €4.

€4/5 (Gent)
