Shweta Tiwari and Raja Chaudhary had a turbulent married life. Shweta has always been very vocal about how she faced domestic abuse in the hands of former husband Raja Chaudhary.
In a recent interview to an online portal, Shweta revealed how daughter Palak reacted to seeing her mom getting beaten up at that time. Shweta shared that Palak was only 12-years-old back then.
Shweta spoke about her daughter Palak seeing the atrocities inflicted upon her by Raja. “He beat and harassed me many times in front of him. But, she always had a hope that her father would love her as she watches Raja on TV. He made many false claims about me that I would not allow him to meet my daughter,” Shweta said in the interview.
Shweta also mentioned how Raja chose property over Palak. The Kasautii Zindagii Kay actress shared that Raja was given two options – either take a house that was in the name of Palak or take a house and stay away from Palak. Raja chose the latter.
For the unversed, Shweta and Raja got married in 1998 and Palak was born in 2000. After 9 years of marriage, Shweta filed for divorce in 2007. Shweta then married actor Abhinav Kohli in 2013 and with him she has a son – Reyansh. Abhinav and Shweta separated in 2019.
Shweta is now single-handedly bringing up her two kids. Daughter Palak has already set foot in the entertainment industry and all set for her Bollywood debut soon.
