Mattress Mack — Jim McIngvale, as you may know — has had some big wins and some huge losses betting on various Houston teams over the years (although, a good reminder: It’s a hedge of sorts against the Gallery Furniture promotions he’s made over the years against the Astros winning or losing).
This time? Per Vegas Insider reporter Patrick Everson, McIngvale had “at least” $7.9 million on the Astros to win it all again this year. The payout would have been nearly $51 million.
Alas. Didn’t happen this year. Imagine being able to put $8 million down and be able to stomach the loss. What a life.
But you know what comes next. He’ll be back to bet a huge amount of money on another event like the Super Bowl and we’ll be watching to see if he wins or loses:
