New York Fashion Week definitely has more of an edge than the other fashion capitals. That holds true for the clothes and translates to the beauty as well. There's more room for experimentation, more opportunity to make a statement that we'll all remember just as much as the fashion. The New York Fashion Week Fall 2024 beauty looks certainly leave an impression.
Decorations are big on the hair front. Whether it be in the form of a cluster of bows or colorful abstract designs highlighting locks. LaPointe earns extra credit for not only giving models intricate braided updos, but for expertly styling their baby hairs as well.
Moving on to makeup, eyes take center stage. Both Carolina Herrera and Bach Mai embraced neon eyeliner. The red eyeliner at Eckhaus Latta rightfully received all the attention. Models over at Helmut Lang were treated to smoky eyes 2.0, which offer a more fierce gaze. Ulla Johnson opted for a more haphazard approach, swiping on more eyeshadow over one eye than the other. Then there's the thick black eyeliner used at Jason Wu that turns the classic cat eye into something out of a dystopian film. Not that we're complaining, of course. In most cases, makeup artists mainly focused on peepers. With Anna Sui and Carolina Herrera being notable exceptions.
Red and pink are the most popular and surely the most practical lipstick colors of the season. Although Kim Shui's models got the ombre treatment. They boasted a slightly different take on the blurred lipstick trend with each deserving their own moment in the sun. Or at least some additional effort by taking the time out of your packed schedule to zoom in on each and every look.

At Anna Sui, a plum-colored lip, subtle blush and two-tone smoky eyes were balanced out with bleached eyebrows.
Braided updos rolled into twists framing models' faces supplied a slight Princess Leia vibe. But it's the strategically coiled and positioned baby hairs that steal the show.
