Choosing the next president of the nation. Doing your civil duty. Yeah yeah. We know what Election Day is really all about… free stuff!
That “I voted” sticker they handed you when you recorded your vote is not just a fashion accessory. It’s your ticket to all sorts of freebies and discounts. Retailers, who have never found an event they’re not willing to monetize, are looking to woo voters—and while they might not be offering Elon Musk-sized incentives to get you there, some of the deals are nothing to sneeze at.
Here’s a rundown of some of the specials being offered on Election Day 2024. (Note that many local restaurants and bars also offer specials today.)
Krispy Kreme
Head into your local location for a free doughnut on Nov. 5. And if you don’t have an I Voted sticker because you voted by mail or voted early and no longer have yours, the chain will give you one.
Uber and Lyft
Catch a ride to your polling place for half-off, up to $10.
Uber Eats
Get 25% off orders of $25 or more, with a maximum discount of $15. This offer goes live at 6:00 p.m. on election night.
Ikea
Get a free frozen yogurt with this coupon, but only on Nov. 5.
Chuck E. Cheese
Need a break from the news? Buy one 60-minute all you can play game pass and you'll get another free. Also, bronze and silver Fun Pass holders will get a one-day upgrade to gold member food & beverage perks, receiving 50% off food and most drinks that day.
Johnny Rockets
Drown any potential sorrows in a free milkshake with an in-store purchase. You will need an I Voted sticker for this offer.
Hertz
If you’ve rented a car anytime since Oct. 21 for two days or more, you can get an additional free day. This offer expires today, however.
Dave & Buster’s
Take advantage of $5 beers and $5 late-night bites.
HeyDude
If shoe shopping is on your to-do list today, you can buy either the left or right shoe and get the other one free (aka 50% off). The online only offer is good for 47 hours.
